The Baddie Behind The Business

MEET MALLIRON

Hey Baddie and Friends,

My name is Malliron Hodge and I am the Baddie behind Baddies with Business. As an early-stage entrepreneur and liberatory design thinking coach, my passion runs deep for collaborating and supporting Black women and listening to their stories. When I am not behind the mic, I am working in an education nonprofit focused on community engagement and design.

I have a BS in Business Management from Winston-Salem State University, an MPA from Indiana University with a concentration in Nonprofit Management, and a certificate in Social Entrepreneurship, and the Founder of Malliron L Hodge Education Innovation Consulting LLC. I love traveling, playing roller derby, my Delta Sigma Theta, my family and friends, a good hymnal, and porch sitting with my Mom.

Why Black Women?

We Need Each Other

According to the Harvard Business Review Report, 17% of Black women are starting businesses, yet only 3% of Black women are running mature businesses. This makes me wonder, what is happening to them between years 0-5. That is where Baddies with business comes in to support Black women entrepreneurs in the most critical years 0-5 to provide a space to tell our stories, build community, and get access to social capital. If you’ve experienced any of the pain points below, this community is for you!
  • Burnout : Exhaustion and fatigue from assuming the role of “superwoman.”
  • Isolation : Lack of person(s) to work or connect with.
  • Financial Sustainability: Little to no startup capital and bootstrapping initial investments
